Barclays, the financial institution, has announced the launch of a new web-based filing system for their online customers, enabling them to upload and store personal and business documents, such as bills, passports and birth certificates, which can be scanned in for storing online.
Known as Barclays Cloud IT, the bank claims it is a secure, online deposit box for customers to store and manage their important documents, encouraging customers to think outside the box, go paperless and get rid of their filing cabinets! The new system is available to online banking customers via a module on their home page, and it has also been pre-populated with their banking statements and correspondence for convenience. Users will be able to create individual boxes for their personal paperwork and documents, as well as the setting up of payments, renewals and other alerts via SMS or email.
