Canon USA, providers of digital imaging solutions, has announced the release of Oce PRISMAaccess® 5.4 which now includes support for a wider range of streamlined submission methods and jobs for print providers and customers. The updated solution now supports customisable online documents, the ordering of inventory items, variable data printing and catalogued print documents. Users will also be able to submit files via the cloud and direct payment capabilities.
PRISMAaccess 5.4 supports the design, submission, composition and printing of variable content documents, including business cards and post cards that are personalised. Users can create master document templates within an integrated editor application and saved as an ‘orderable’ product. Using the updated solution, reprints via a library of pre-approved documents, i.e. corporate brochures and training manuals, can be previewed and ordered. The updated PRISMAaccess 5.4 now allows users to accept direct payments via PayPal™. Users, when ordering a product, are now offered the option of paying for their order during the submission process.
Sam Yoshida, vice president and general manager of Marketing, Business Imaging Solutions Group, Canon USA, explained: “Far too many companies and users still rely on archaic methods of submitting print jobs to their production departments and print providers, such as using email or memory sticks to transfer the documents and using email to discuss job specifications, receive estimates and preview/approve jobs.” He added: “With the introduction of PRISMAaccess 5.4, Canon is extending our support for electronic job submission, helping our customers streamline workflow and embracing a more efficient and cost-effective way to manage production print jobs within their organisations.
