Leaders in speech and vision technology, Sensory, Inc., has announced their new technology suite that combines voice and vision biometric authentication for tablets, PCs and mobile devices. TrulySecure™ is available to OEM product developers in an SDK that combines Sensory’s world-class speaker verification technology with a new proprietary, state-of-the-art face recognition engine. The new authentication solution will help to reduce user frustration surrounding PIN and fingerprint identification.
Combining speaker verification with face recognition for user authentication ensures that the device is secure, without having to enter a PIN number of password each time a user wishes to access the device or application. By using existing camera and microphone that are incorporated into devices, there are no additional hardware costs but increased accuracy.
CEO of Sensory, Todd Mozer, said: “Consumers generally find it cumbersome to use PINs or passwords to lock their phones, and as a result these devices often go unlocked. Sensory’s biometric authentication provides a high level of security, while still being convenient and fast enough that people will use it.”
TrulySecure™ is an on-device biometric that does not require a cloud connection, which many consumers prefer as they don’t want their biometric information stored externally from their devices. Therefore, embedded biometrics are considered better and deliver higher security.
Dan Miller, a senior analyst from Opus Research, adds: “Sensory is continuing to exhibit leadership in handsfree control by allowing a secure multimodal biometric that doesn’t require touching devices to make them work. Combining biometrics is an excellent approach to improving accuracy and performance across environmental conditions.”
