Hyland Software, providers of enterprise content management solutions, has announced the release of OnBase 13, their enterprise content management (ECM) solution that now incorporates the mobile environment. OnBase 13 is the first mobile ECM platform enabling users to find, update and approve documents, upload photos and images, complete and submit forms while mobile, and also offers a range of offline support services.
With mobility being a key factor of today’s business world, it is becoming increasingly essential to ensure ECM solutions are capable of supporting a mobile environment. According to a recent IDC Technology Spotlight, sponsored by Hyland and titled: Mobility and ECM: Document-Intensive Processes Beyond the Back Office, August 2013, the number of mobile users is anticipated to be more than 327 million by 2014.
OnBase 13 allows users to access and retrieve the information they need, including emails, when needed and in any location. But Hyland have taken OnBase 13 one step further by providing offline access as well, enabling users to put certain documents, i.e. handbooks, contracts, etc. offline on a mobile device for reading at a later time, without having to rely on a network or internet connection.
Glenn Gibson, product marketing manager at Hyland Software, said: “Anyone who is serious about improving business processes and isn’t leveraging mobile ECM is falling behind. Today’s business doesn’t always take place within the four walls of the office. It happens while you’re on a plane, in a field or just away from your workstation.”
OnBase 13 is one of the most flexible and comprehensive ECM solutions available today, empowering users and delivering the right information, at the right time, wherever the location.
