Sophos has announced the latest version of their Enterprise Mobile Management (EMM) solution that is the first to include individual file encryption, web filtering and integrated AV. Sophos Mobile Control 4.0 is available as an SaaS (software-as-a-service) solution or on-premise and provides a differentiated yet simple approach for SMBs in order to secure and manage mobile devices, applications and content. The new solution delivers flexibility and supports iOS, Windows Phone 8 and Android devices.
Sophos Mobile Control 4.0 (SMC 4.0) is the only EMM solution available that offers file-level encryption, providing integrated security against malicious websites for Android devices and malware, accounting for 80% of smartphone operating systems worldwide and the majority of mobile malware threats. IT administrators are able to choose website categories to control access and block any data stealing, or inappropriate web pages, and the solution can be integrated with Sophos UTM, Checkpoint and Cisco to deliver network access control. SMC’s user-centric approach, management and pricing allows for a more simplified administration, and the intuitive web-based management console provides users with a self-service portal should they wish to register devices, change passwords and report any lost or stolen devices.
Dan Schiappa, SVP and General Manager of Sophos’ Enduser Security Group, said: “SMC 4.0 extends the Sophos commitment to delivering comprehensive data protection, offering solutions to manage, secure and protect not just the mobile devices themselves, but also the content and applications on those devices. SMC 4.0 takes data protection beyond the office door by ensuring persistent mobile encryption on devices. Additional network access control based on device compliance status makes mobile device management, content management and mobile security simple and effective.”
